From Nuclear Reactors to 60+ Car Months: The Story Behind Daniel Willis & United Leadership

I’m Daniel Willis, a former Naval Nuclear Reactor Operator on submarines, restaurant Director of Operations & Training, and top 1% automotive sales professional who went from an introverted rookie to selling 60+ cars a month and earning over $400k every year.

Now I coach sales professionals and organizational leadership to build the legendary success for them and their teams, without burning out or guessing their next move.

This didn’t happen because I was the loudest person in the room.

I proved that you don’t have to be a “natural-born closer” to win big in this business...

When the schedule allows, I’m hitting the trails outdoors or catching a Broadway show — because great leaders are students of everything. The discipline of nature and the storytelling of theater have more in common with sales and leadership than most people realize.

Whether it’s in the field, in the pews, on the ice, or in the front row of a production — I’m always learning, always growing, and always leading from the front.

That's not just what I do. That's who I am. And it's exactly what I bring into every coaching session with you.

Beyond the Numbers

When I’m not coaching sales professionals or working with organizations, you’ll find me living the same principles I teach — just in slightly different arenas.

Out on the farm, there’s no faking it. The animals don’t care about your title, and the work doesn’t do itself. It keeps me grounded, humble, and reminded that real results come from showing up every single day whether you feel like it or not.

On Sundays, you’ll find me serving at church — because leadership without purpose is just management, and faith has always been the foundation everything else is built on.

Then there’s hockey. Yes, hockey — in Alabama. I know. But there’s something about strapping on skates, stepping onto the ice, and leading a team through a game that requires strategy, trust, and split-second decisions that makes me a better coach off the ice too. Championships are never given — they’re earned. And a champion is never born — they’re developed. That’s not just a philosophy I carry into the rink, it’s the same belief that drives everything we do inside ULA. We’re building champions on the ice and in the boardroom, one intentional rep at a time.
